First Birthday Party!

Today was the perfect day for a birthday party!
Hopefully the pictures below tell a little story of how we celebrated Creighton's First Birthday...
in a cheerful yet spooky way!

Every year from here on we are going to use this awesome birthday banner Rachel made.
~
I wanted to post the invitation we sent out but decided not to - don't want to share my address and phone number with the world - but the invitation was so stinking cute!
~
Since Creighton was born just 3 days before Halloween, we decided to do a Halloween themed birthday party. So we dressed Creighton up in his costume for his birthday party...

Here's our little astronaut who is turning 1
Isn't he just precious?!?!
He had his own little pumpkin "smash cake" to go with his Halloween themed party. It was the cutest little cake!
We had tasty, and spooky, foods....and drinks.
And spooky party favors, too!
Dave turned the back yard into a seriously spooky grave yard
He did an incredible job setting a spooky scene!
Now, for some shots of a few of the guests (I didn't get shots of everyone who came and I am so disapointed. I wanted a shot of all the kids in the costumes, but we didn't get that either...it was pretty chaotic!)
Can you believe just 1 year ago it was only me and Dave?
Team Seghs sure has gotten better since Creighton arrived!
Creighton with his Grandma. She couldn't wait to snuggle up on her tiny astronaut. And he smiled huge after her hugs!
And of course Creighton was all smiles when he was with his Grandpa. And as you can tell, Grandpa was all smiles, too! Can you blame him?
Mimi had a sore throat so she didn't get in any pictures with little Creighton so she didn't pass her sore throat on to him. : (
And of course, Creighton's party wouldn't be complete without his Rachel to celebrate with us!
And Poppy & Dee were like the icing on the cake for Creighton! CT loves the way Dee tells a story...especially the one about the baby eagles.
See how much he loves his Poppy?
But of course, Creighton has a special place in his heart for his cousin Megan. She was a little German dancer for Halloween and she even learned how to say "Guten Tag"
Creighton's buddy Jack Barker came to the party, and so did Jack's sister Lexi.
There were a few of Creighton's other friends at the party, too, but I'm just waiting to get those pictures from the other moms who were here, because I didn't get any with all the celebration madness going on!!!
And even though it was quite a challenge, we were able to get a shot of Creighton with all his cousins in their costumes.
How great is this? From left to right:
Cade 5 months, Megan 4 years, Ashton 3 years, Brett 6 years, Ethan 6 years
Not pictured is the bun in Sarah's oven, due in May!
Since it was such a perfect day, we got to enjoy the weather and sunshine outside
And Grandma got to show the kids all the creepy stuff Dave built into our "grave yard".
We moved the party back inside so Creighton could "eat" his cake.
He wasn't too interested in it, but his cousins sure were! We got Creighton to try two finger-licks of icing but that was all. So we moved on to better things...
like Rylee eating M&M's (it's not a Seghers party with out M&M's)
and Grandma cutting cake for all the family and friends!
Then we opened presents! WOW! Creighton got so many new toys and puzzles and clothes and really cool things! A few "space" themed items for our little astronaut, too!
Ashton and Megan were great helpers with opening the presents, since Creighton didn't really have a clue what to do.
So now we end with well wishes for a Happy Halloween for all of you
And a big Happy Birthday to our sweet little 1 year old!
