Petting Zoo Birthday Party = FUN!

Our friends Shaan & Milan turned 2 today and had a cool party at a petting zoo. Creighton LOVED running free and exploring the outdoors and introducing himself to all the animals.
"Hello Cow!"
"Look mama, ducks!"
(mama didn't look at the ducks, she kept her eye on Creighton the Climber who was contemplating joining the ducks!) Did I mention the boy climbs?
"Goats! Coo-ool"
"Hey Goats, my name is Creigthon. What's your name?"
"Is this goat food or goat poo?"
"Either way, mama is going to make me wash my hands!"
One last look at the goats before we go!
Mama and Creighty had a GREAT time at the petting zoo!
Happy Birthday Shaan & Milan!

21 months (1 year 9 months)

Here is Creighton in his official "ugly rocker" picture for his 21 month birthday!
Can you believe he is such a big boy?
I don't even have enough words to describe how fun and cool this kid is. He is truly an entertainer, loves the spotlight and being star of the show! He's smart and sweet, too. Just a delight to be around.
Even when he's a silly mess, we love this big boy!

Harpers First (real) Bath

Here's my little peanut taking her first real bath!
And we can't fail to notice her curious big brother, observing to make sure mama does it right! Harper really didn't hate the bath the entire time. Once we got her covered with the warm water, she settled down and loved it!
Relaxed and clean Ready for a long night of sleep (we hope?!?!)

Love at first sight

Baby Harper went on her first date today for her two-week birthday! We went to lunch with mama Jessica and baby Holden Rice. Holden is almost 2 months older than Harper.
They cuddled up together and made a cute pair!
And even if they don't fall in love, I'm sure they'll be great playmates : )

Harper and Friends

I tried to capture a picture of all Harpers visitors! I missed a few, but here are pictures of all the people Harper has met already!

My awesome OBGYN, Dr Ramos, almost immediately after Harper was born Aunt Cindy.
Hung and Katie also visited but I didn't get their picture. Aunt Sarah and cousin Gavin.
Uncle Corey and cousins Ethan and Ashton also came to meet Harper. Aunt Kellie (aka, Aunt KK)
Aunt Tina.
Seth, Alexa and Jack also came to meet Baby Harps

Aunt Ashlie, Uncle Chad, cousins Brett and Megan.
Grandpa and Mimi Seghers
Aunt Suzanne and Uncle Ben
Grandma
Poppy
Dee
Uncle Eric
Aunt Heather and Ericksen
I can't believe I didn't get pictures of The Kinseys or The Brownlees or Margie and Mallory. That's what pregnancy tired-head does...it makes your brain like scrambled eggs!
We have a few more visitors planned so I'll have to be more on my game with my ever-present camera!

Harper's Homecoming

Time to go home!
I can't believe we are already home. It feels like it was just minutes ago that I was here, laboring, wondering if I should go to the hospital or not! This has been so surreal...I tried to describe it today and the best I can say is that Harper totally feels like my daughter, but that this whole experience has been imaginary, of something yet to come.

I'm beyond smitten with this little thing we call Harper!
We dressed her up to get ready for the 2 minute trip home from the hospital. Harper wore an outfit that is exactly like what Creighton wore home, but Harpers has pink trim and Creightons had blue trim. We did a photo session while Daddy got the car.

I promise I did not pose her hands like this. She did this all on her own. And while Creighton screamed and cried when we dressed him up to go home, Harper was all about the new outfit and having her picture made!
I crack up at this picture...I think she looks like The Pope, praying!
She wasn't as excited about the car seat as she was about her photo op
We look ready for this!
(we aren't!)
We came home to some sweet decorations to welcome our baby girl. And a big brother who was pretty interested in our new little package! What a good little helper already
We were so glad we got hom in time to show Creighton his baby sister again before bed time. He's such a good boy to be so sweet and welcoming to Harper. We are now officially a family of four! I can't even put into words how fulfilled I feel.
Team Seghs is complete!

Harper's Here!

Just a few days ago, this was how we knew our little girl, Harper

Saturday, around 2pm, my real labor began! By 4:30 I knew it was the real deal so I told Creighton it was time to go to the hospital to meet his baby sister. He wasn't so thrilled.

And as much as I wanted to meet baby Harper, I can't say I was real thrilled either...I wasn't 37 weeks yet, and I was in a lot of pain...

By 5pm I was checked in to the hospital and 5 cm dilated. Somehow, our family all got to the hospital in record time and I got to see all our parents and even my niece Megan and nephew Brett before things got too ugly. You see, when I arrived at the hospital, I IMMEDIATELY asked the nurses to run my clotting tests so I could get an epidural. By the time the test was back, my doctor said I was 7-8 cm and that Harper would be here in probably about 30 minutes, given how quickly my body likes to move during labor. So no epidural for me. Dang it! I was so looking forward to experiencing what it's like to not feel the lower half of your body, especially when having to push a person out of it.
Here I am, literally about to push! A little pale, a little freaked!

And at 6:39 pm, we met our precious little bundle, Harper Renee!
She weighed a perfect 6lbs and 5.6 oz and was 19 inches long
Daddy is super proud, Momma is too!
By the way, since things went so quickly, Dave didn't get to play too much of a role in labor or coaching me. But when it came time for all THREE of my pushes, he said exactly what I needed to hear and was the perfect team-mate for this whirlwind delivery!
Minutes after she was born, Creighton got to come in to meet his baby sister. He was so sweet, gently touching her nose and giving her a tiny kiss on the mouth. Then our parents all got to come in and visit as well, but Harper didn't stay. They sent her off to the nursery for evaluations and to get cleaned up.
And Harper checked out perfectly! She is 100% healthy and breating well and sucking well and just everything we could have ever imagined and more! AMEN!
She looks a little like her big brother but has a different nose. She is so tiny compared to what we knew with Creighton!
Our little family is complete!
Daddy is adjusting to a girl, bows and all!
And Momma is recovering well (it's a little easier when you don't lose tons of blood!) and totally smitten with this itsy bitsy gal!
MANY more pictures to come. But THANK YOU to everyone who prayed for us during this incredible journey. What a ride it's been and what a blessed outcome!
