10 months! NO WAY

Today Creighton turned 10 months old! Here is his official 10 month picture in the ugly rocker. He is just so adorable, and he posed so perfectly for the camera. He likes getting his picture made.

But as you can see here, he never stays still for long. This boy is all about climbing. Everything.

We celebrated the day out by the "pool". Certainly nothing fancy, but tons of fun!
(I was trying out new things with his hair...there is so much of it!)And just recently this kid has decided he loves food. He has become an eating machine and its so fun to watch him feed himself. Creighton really thinks he's a big boy now.And he wants to be just like his daddy!

We sure love you, little Creighty, and have enjoyed every second of the last 10 months with you.

Been a while

Well I haven't blogged a lot lately because I had two big dates with my boy and I wanted to enter them as separate posts in order of occurrence, but have just been busy or lazy or distracted.
So I'll just describe the first event and maybe eventually I'll post those pictures (when I get around to uploading them) and then you can see pictures of our second big date.
Dave and I took Creighton to the Dallas World Aquarium! It was a little fast and furious trip through all the animals and tanks so we could get home in time for a decent afternoon nap. Plus, I get a little claustrophobic there and can't really stay too long. But we did have a great time! Creighton loved looking at the other kids as much as he liked all the animals and plants. Dave and I enjoyed watching Creighton watching the sting rays and the penguins.

Creighton also had his first trip to the zoo! We went with Aunt Ashlie and cousins Brett and Megan. We ran into their friends Holt and Hope and had a GREAT time

Even though Creighton looks a little overwhelmed here, we had a wonderful time so thanks for inviting us to go to the zoo with you, Aunt Ashlie. Creighton just takes a little while to warm up to new things

Me and Creights...still warming up to things....

Creighty checking me out to make sure everything is okay. He really loved the aquariums and the water falls. The zebras were also a hit. But I think he loved being with his cousins and their friends the most, as you can see in these pictures below
Holt, Brett, Creighton and Megan being silly
Creighton loving on Megan and Hope (well, some call it lovin' and others call it pulling hair!)
Creighty spazzing out at his favorite non-adult person, his sweet and helpful cousin Megan!
And this was one tuckered out little guy at the end of the morning!

Prayers

Please pray for Carter's mommy & daddy, Sheaffer and Chris. Thursday night, Chris was in a serious 4 wheeler accident and has suffered some intense injuries. He has a long journey of recovery ahead of him and needs prayers for rest, emotional and physical strength, and pain relief. Sheaffer needs prayers for rest and relief from the anxiety she faces with a healthy growing son and a healing husband.
~
Please pray for my friend Whitney as she heals from a tough surgery. Ask that she feels comforted as her children are provided for, that her husband has extra reserves of energy, and that she feels God's love and healing hand within her and from those around her.
~
Please pray for my friend Jill's family (the Sargents) as they face a "new normal" without the head of their family. Pray for comfort from the loss of their father, Dr Sargent, and for deeper realization of their Eternal Father as their provider and leader.
~
and lastly, pray prayers of thanksgiving for the many blessings we have in our lives every day, such as our friends, our Father, our health, and even simple things like food to eat and homes to sleep in. Life changes in the blink of an eye. But the foundations can remain constant and safe. What is your foundation?

Boys will be boys

A couple of weeks ago we had dinner at Celebration with The Appels, and I just came across this great picture of the boys and the mamas. Heather & Ericksen and Me & Creighton. These handsome boys are going to have LOTS of fun together.
~
This week, we've had lots of fun with Creighton's other best friends.
Creighton got to see Jack Barker again for the first time since Jack was born. Hard to tell in this picture, but it's pretty obvious Creighton could wear Jack's hand-me-downs, even though Creighton is about 2 months older than Jack!

Creighton also met up with Carter Sims for lunch. I'm thinking this was their conversation in baby language: "Hey buddy, its been a while! but our mom's are constantly showing eachother pictures of us, so I kinda feel like I've seen you lots, you know?"

"Neat-o, we are about the same size! And we can both stand real good, but I wish I could walk like you do, Carter. I'm learning. Thanks for showing me how!"

"Hey, once I can learn to walk as good as you Carter, look out there at all the cool places we could go together and things we could do. If only we lived closer to one another..."

"But I'm really glad to see ya, buddy!"

Creighton went to Alex Jimenez's house to play and boy, did they have fun!
Alex is a few months older than Creighton, so he taught CT how to shoot hoops. Creighton did pretty well!
Till next time, boys!
