Sabrina's Wisdom

I just checked Sabrina's blog again...more wisdom that I would love to copy and share because, evidently she and I have similar feelings. Not that I know yet how it is to have a toddler, but I know all about the "to do list" and "having time" she talks about!
Why dont you just read what she has to say...

Borrowed Blogs...

A few of you know that I can get really sentimental (a.k.a. emotional) at times and, especially while I was out on maternity leave, I would sit and think about how amazing this gift was that I had been given and how honored I was that God would send me my little boy. And I would think about how special that parent/child relationship is and how deep that love is automatically, but that how that doesn't even compare to God's love for us, His children! Well, I read this tonight and it just really resonated with how I feel, so I had to post it on my blog as if it were my own thoughts. This was written by Sabrina Beasley...her husband David Beasley and I work for the same company and are friends through work (he was rep of the year, Go Beas!). They have a 14 month old son Benjamin. Sabrina contributes to a website called Family Life Momblog (http://www.familylifemomblog.com/posts_by_sabrina_beasley/)

He loves me
by Sabrina Beasley
Today while driving in the car, I turned my rear view mirror to see if my son was doing okay in the back seat. It brought me so much pleasure just to see him sitting there—his smiles, stares, and other little facial expressions, the way he kicked his feet, the way he leaned in his car seat. It was a pleasure just to see him. I found myself smiling with delight and the warmth of love washing over me. Did he know how much I loved him just for being my son?
And then I wondered if this might be a glimpse of how my heavenly Father feels about me. What a profound peace to serve a God who not only calls me by name but also calls me His daughter, and finds His great pleasure in His love for me … and you, too.
Therefore, “Come out from their midst and be separate,” says the Lord. “And do not touch what is unclean; and I will welcome you. And I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to Me,” says the Lord Almighty (2 Corinthians 6:17-18).

9 months today!

9 month STATS:
18 pounds 1 ounce (10th percentile)

and I forgot the head circumference, but its 50th percentile as well
100% adorable!

Here are the pictures from the infamous "ugly rocker"
This time it was REALLY hard to get Creighton to sit still so we could take his picture. He wanted to turn around and grab the lamp or bend down to look at what was on the ground. It took me, Rachel and Dave all making noises and shaking rattles to get him to look at us!
and on top of that, my camera battery was dying, so this was the best we could get in the few seconds of battery power we had left.
But we successfully captured his big day of turning 9 months old! Can't believe he's been in my arms for longer than he was in my belly. What a little treasure : )

"Uh-oh!" My first injury

Creighton was so excited when Daddy got home Sunday! We were all playing together and Creighton was showing off how he can stand on his own and hold on to things and take steps. In the quickest of seconds, Creighton lost his balance and fell face forward into one of his toys. He has a tiny bruise on his nose and a boo-boo on his lip. He cried for a few seconds, but recovered quickly and went right back to playing and walking. Look Mom, a fat lip!But I'm tough! And I'm sure this will happen again as I get even more adventurous!

And here is an example of my adventurous spirit...I don't know how well you can see this, but I'm standing in my crib, playing with my aquarium...so much for nap time : )

When Daddy's away, Mommy and Creighty will play!

Dave spent the weekend in Chicago with his dental school buddy, Chris. They have a fairly new tradition where each summer they go for a weekend to a MLB stadium to watch a ballgame. Last year they went to NYC to see The Yankees play at Yankee Stadium before it got torn down. This year its the Cubbies. Here are the pictures he emailed me while he was away.
at a bar right outside Wrigley
downtown Chicago
Just before the game!
They are having so much fun on their guys get-away. They even found a street festival with a "corn-hole" (a.k.a. bean bag toss) tournament!
~
But Creighton and I are having fun, too!
we played LOTS and LOTS at home
we had lunch with Jessica and Cater Tigert...Oh goodness, Cater is just so stinking cute and Creighton really liked looking at her...flirts!
and then we went to Grandma's and Aunt Ashlie and Cousin Megan came over to play. Megan is such a helpful cousin and Creighton just LOVES her!
It was a pretty fun weekend

The Nursery

Severly overdue, I know, but here are a couple pictures of Creighton's room!
Creighton has been sleeping in his crib since his THIRD night home from the hospital! We now have it lowered all the way, so the cute dust ruffle is gone : (
Its kinda hard to tell here but the walls are a light green color and then the wall that his crib is on is a darker accent green. The pictures with the dresser and the window and the precious curtains Dee made came out terrible because of the lighting, so I just decided not to post those. And whats the point of taking a picture of the wall with the closet doors? Although there are some cute pictures on that wall...just come over and see the room in person!!!

Yes, the awful "ugly rocker" which we totally love!

Creighton wanted to show you his bookshelf, but as usual, he got distracted by the camera and had to pose with his cheeky smile! He's really happy to show a couple pictures of his room to you : ) and he would like you to come over and play ANY time!

MILEstone

I hit a big milestone and am excited to write about it!
I ran a MILE and a half yesterday for the first time in 2+ years! Back in November 2006 I ran a half marathon and pretty much haven't run since...maybe a little here and there but I am finally going to try to get back into running!
And I was able to hit this MILEstone because of another milestone...I finally got my body to stop producing milk! Yes, these milkjugs are empty now. After a month of major discomfort and crazy wacky hormones, I am myself again!
No pictures to post of these milestones...sorry!
Ha : )
