Fun in the sun....or not so much!

We bought a new toy! And its a back yard toy so on Sunday we thougth we'd have some fun in the sun... (well, shade, you all know how I am about sun exposure!!!)
Here is Creighton in his lobster swimsuit for the first time, ready to go outside and learn about his new toy!
Daddy introduced him to the outdoor blow up toy that Mommy thought was a baby swimming pool...took Dave an hour to inflate...
And Creighton hated it!
I mean, really hated it at first!
But what we've learned about our boy is that he likes to spend some time warming up to things before he dives into them, and this was no exception.
Just a few minutes after observing things, Creighton decided it wasnt half bad
And especially if he has something to chew on
he could stay in here all day!
Turned in to a fun Sunday afternoon!! Thank you, Daddy, for putting together my really cool new toy!

A date with Mommy!

Because I am leaving town this week for a work trip, Creighton and I spent some one-on-one time this weekend. On Saturday I took Creighton to PetSmart to look at the fish and birds
He was interested in the fish
and thought they were pretty cool.
He just stared and staredand stared and stared some more.
Then, all of a sudden, he seemed to want to climb in there with them!
He likes fish!
and he liked the birds, too. This one in particular (I thought about buying it, he liked it so much, but who wants to clean a birdcage...and we have a cat). One more check of the fish before we left
And Creighton was very sad it was time to go!
Plenty more "Mommy dates" to come, buddy, I promise!!!

Yikes!

So here are the infamous hair cut pictures
Before!
And After!
WHAT WAS MOMMY THINKING!?!?!?
~
And then here are a few more Before and After. I think you can tell which are which! You see, here's why I did it...it was getting so long it was past his eyes. And he was constantly sporting a "comb over" because of it, which will some day humiliate him This is me trying to smile about it, but knowing I just made a bad call.
But he's still just precious. Even without his silly hairdo that we had gotten really attached to!

And you may have noticed....What was I THINKING?!?!?

From the pictures in the sick post below, you may have noticed I cut Creighton's bangs. WHY!!??!? WHY DID I DO THAT!?!?!
I have "before" and "after" pictures....I just need to load them up and post them. I saved the lock of his hair but I wish I had just left him with those long bangs and the comb-over. His haircut made him look different and Dave just HATED Creightons new look. We are adusting still....even though I did it last week.

Oh no, not again....

On Tuesday, while I was working, Creighton started vomiting everywhere again from 12:00-1:00pm.
: (
Rachel called me in a panic and I ran home and we took Creighton to the pediatrician.
This time, he had a fever and barfed more than last time (didn't know that was possible!) and the last that came up was reddish brownish...he hadn't eaten anything that color recently so the doctor tested the "matter" that was on his bib to see if it was blood or food....the test came back inconclusive. The doctor said if he vomited that color one more time we were to take him to Childrens Hospital. WHAT? Oh were we stressed. But luckily, sweet exhausted Creighton stopped vomiting, fell asleep, and woke up ready to eat! Here he is that evening before bed... Just as playful as can be
and never stopped smiling.
but look how tired and red his poor little eyes are
: (
I think we figured out that his "first sick" was a result of some baby food that might have been left in the fridge too long and this epsiode was a result of a virus. My little champ went through a lot and was still so sweet. I just feel awful that this has happened to him....twice...but such is the life of a child, from what you all tell me!

What a perfect weekend!

Friday night, Kellie, Erin, Sheaffer and I drove down to Carrie's parents house on Lake Conroe to hook up with Carrie and Jill for the weekend. We got in late but were prepared to wake up Saturday morning and start off a great weekend.
Well, what a perfect girls weekend it turned out to be!

This is the Connelly's amazing lake front home. The first thing you see when you drive up is this beautiful fountain in the circle drive

And then this amazing home! Talk about a "lake house"! There are these gorgeous glass front doors- you can see straight through from the front entrance all the way out to the lake and what a beautiful view that is!
Not a cloud in the sky....well, one tiny one! So Saturday morning we had breakfast out by the pool
and then decided to get out there on the lake and get some of the action
I was SO excited to get out there and play on the water So VERY excited
All the girls had a blast on the tube
(and we really paid for it....every muscle was so sore the next day!)

And EVERYONE got up on the wakeboard
Here's Kellie tearing it up!
All the girls on the sunset "booze cruise" to finish off the perfect day!
Jill, Erin, Sheaffer
Kellie, Carrie, Me
THANK YOU to Jim and Laura for hosting our weekend and taking such good care of us!!!
~
But wait....there's more...and this part isn't so perfect....
We got a flat tire on I-45 about half way home. I was kinda freaked at first but then angles appeared by the names of Abel and Melinda to help us out. Here is Abel changing our tire
And how cool is this -- these strangers just happened to go to Sheaffers church! Coincidence? We think not!
Here we all are, waiting with Melinda on the side of the highway while Abel changes our tire. I know God sent us these angels to help us out, so a bad situation (4 girls on the side of the road with a flat tire and no one knows what to do?!) turned out to be the perfect ending to a perfect trip!
