O & P are here

According to the experts (my Davey Dave) the two central lower teeth in pediatric dentistry are called "O" and "P"It may be hard to see in this picture, but this is Creightons little mouth and the two tiny lower teeth poking through! And he's being such a good sport about it - not extra fussy or having any real symptoms besides extra drool (I didn't know any living thing could be even more slobbery than he already was!)

I survived it!

Thursday night was my first night away from Creighton. Dave and I went on a little weekend get-away to New Orleans for two nights to celebrate Dave's birthday (on the 21st). Leaving was hard, but I did well. I had a lump in my throat and a knot in my stomach and eyes filled with tears but I held them all in. This helped me survive the long weekend away from little buddy!
Dave and I had a lovely time in New Orleans, eating all kinds of good food and doing some of the best people watching we've ever done, but last night we were so ready to come home.
(*see the cute little black backpack hanging off the table? that's my breastpump!)
Rachel, Grandpa & Mimi, and Grandma took care of CT all weekend and said he did perfectly. We knew he'd be fine; it was us that struggled! I'm about to go in and see my little guy for the first time since Thursday afternoon and I can't wait to nuzzle him and kiss on the best little guy in the world!

Girlfriends, Babies and Bluebonnetts!

Saturday I got to see Kasey and meet Oliver for the first time. Isn't he precious? I have a picture of me and Kellie and Kasey just like this....from 10 years ago! (I'll have to try to scan that ancient picture in and upload it here so we can compare our 20's to our 30's)
My how we've stayed the same, but how our lives have changed! Saturday afternoon, I had a brilliant idea to take Creighton on a walk and take his picture in the bluebonnetts behind the hospital where I delivered him. The pictures were a great idea as you'll see below. The bad idea was that I would wear him in the Baby Bijorn on the 4 mile round trip walk by myself...the problem with this? a.) he's heavy now, and a 4 mile hike "wearing" a 15+ pound baby is hard on the hips and back b.) the trip there was up hill c.) I didn't have anything to sit him in when I got there d.) I started the walk pretty late and had to rush to get the pictures and get him back home for bath and bedtime and e.) it was crazy cold and windy on our way home. The great news is that Dave decided to do his jog at the same time and he saw me struggling up the hill and changed directions so he could help me with take the pictures AND he carried Creighton home! My hero : ) *please note the picture of my hero at the end of the pictures!I'm handsome
Look at my beautiful blue eyes
and my precious little smile
I'm a pretty happy boy!
This is the first time I've seen flowers up close
They are soft and beautiful
I'm having fun here in the flowers
Okay. I'm over it. Lets go

Afternoon at Grandpa & Mimi's

Saturday morning we practiced sitting while looking out the window, wondering how we would spend the day.
We decided a trip to Grandpa & Mimi's house would be fun and when we told Creighton our plans, he got VERY excited!
Creighton loved his visit to Mimi & Grandpa's house.
Everybody loved on him
And Grandpa showed him the trees and the creek And read a book to Creighton
It was a great day!
