My Davey Dave loves to run.
So Creighton, Harper & I packed up our gear and followed Dave around as he ran The Dallas Running Club "The Half" marathon in November and then again in December another half marathon at the Dallas "White Rock Marathon".
(the following pictures are out of order but I can't seem to fix it for some reason. These pictures show the December race first, and the November race next. Sorry if this is confusing...)
Early in the morning on a COLD COLD day we dropped Dave off down at Fair Park for the Dallas White Rock Marathon so Dave could run a half-marathon while we (Me, Creighton, Harper and Pa) cheered him on!
Traffic was pretty horrible, so unfortunately we were only able to find him at one spot. But it was a great spot!
Creighton saw his Daddy first and started yelling "Go Daddy Go!" just like we had practiced!
Lots of people stopped us to tell us how much they liked our poster and the jingle bell wands I had rigged up that made quite a lot of fun noise for all the joggers. But all we cared about was that Daddy saw our sign and loved hearing our jingle bells!
Little Harps was a CHAMP in the cold and loved cheering for her Daddy!
And for Pa, this was his first time ever to observe a marathon/half-marathon. He sure thought it was exciting. And I sure appreciated his help with the kids all morning!

Now, back to "The Half" which was held in November under slightly better weather conditions.
Well, I say slightly better conditions. It was a freezy morning but by the afternoon it was predicted to be nice. But I bundled up the kids anyway and off we went.
Uncle Hung rode with us so I snapped a quick "Before" photo of the boys and off they went.
Then Aunt Heather and I met up at Starbucks for some warm hot cocoa and to establish our game plan! Just by a wild chance Creighton and Ericksen were both decked out in their cool orange vests...should make it easy for their daddies to spot them!
The Harps was all warm and cozy in her leopard zip up she borrowed from her girlfriend Katie.
Speaking of Katie, she and her mama Aunt Cindy met up with me and Aunt Heather at our first watching/cheering spot. We were some SUPER cheerleaders with pom-pons and posters! Check out Katie's cool poster for her daddy Uncle Hung!
Creighton preferred the pom-pons!
And sure enough, at our first stop, we saw all the daddies!
Here goes Uncle Eric!
Next up, Uncle Hung!
and right behind him was Daddy!
Creighton was really excited to see his daddy and he yelled "Go Daddy Go" but then...
Daddy kept running and Creighton was sad. He wanted his Daddy back.
But no time for tears. We had to quickly pack up or kids and head off in our caravan to the next spot on the other side of the lake.
We saw Uncle Hung again!
And Uncle Eric too (somehow that picture got deleted. bummer) but we must have just missed Daddy.
Creighton enjoyed stretching his legs for a minute. I thought for a minute there he was going to join the pack and run to the finish line to look for his Daddy. But instead, once again we threw the kids in to the cars and headed off towards the finish line.
Hey - there goes Uncle Eric crossing the finish line!
And Daddy, too!!! (missed Hung - that speed demon!)
Yay Daddy!!
Strong finish
This is the "After" picture of the boys!
They look great-- not a drop of sweat on them. Studs!
And my Harps did great, too! She's a natural born cheerleader I think.
Creighton couldn't wait to high-five his Daddy. We were REALLY proud of all the runners we cheered for, and the cheerleaders we cheered with!
Team Seghs!
The Nguyens
KT and CT look a little tired out...so this picnic turned in to a cuddle moment : )
Dads, you did a great job running.
Your kids loved watching you!
